Counting down the days for going home, all the memories about home will run upon over and over again. What the most made me laugh was my cute niece. She'll be 2 yrs old this Nov., I couldn't spend too much time to witness her growth, I only went back home and saw her 3 times after her come, nevertheless, she seemed to be familar to me every time, and would want me to carry her rather than my sister-in-law sometimes.

My brother emailed her pictures to me from time to time, so that I could catch up with her growth. "she looks exactly same as you when you were in her age, except one thing, she get the big and double eyes..." My mom. often makes this joke on me. This was the joke in my childhood, I kept asking my mom when I was a kid:" Mom., why shouldn't I get the double eyes same as yours?" Mom would smile to me and said:" because you picked them wrong before you were delivered." Then I would be agonising in the following couple of hours...

Now the niece's learning to speak words, everytime I called back, Mom. would ask her to call me Auntie, previously she could just called single word, " Gu-Gu ", while recently I found she could not only call out" Gu-Jie", but also call it in a fluctuant tone, just like singing a song. She's so cute! :)

I'm looking for the day's coming, the day I can go home and stay with my family.>>

Cute niece
As the countdown for the day I return to my hometown continues, the images of my hometown flash up in my mind.. What gave me the most fun was my cute niece. She will be two years old this Nov. I could not spend enough time to watch her grow up, as I have only gone back home and seen her three times since her birth. Nevertheless, she seemed to recognize me each time, and would want me instead of my sister-in-law to hold her up somtimes.

My brother has emailed her photos to me from time to time, so that I can catch up with how she has grown up. “She looks exactly like you when you were at her age, except for one thing – she has big and double-lid eyes…” My mother often teased me like this. I kept asking her why I did not get the double-lid eyes as hers, and she would smile at me and said, “Because you picked the wrong ones when you were born.” Then I would be sulky for the next couple of hours.

Now my niece is learning to speak. Every time I phoned my mother, she would ask her to call me Auntie. Previously she could only say single words like “Gu gu”, but recently I found that not only she could say “ Gu jie”, but could say it in a melodic tone as if she was singing a song.. She is so cute.

I am looking forward to that day – the day I can go back home and stay with my family
